The mighty Amazonas-Apurímac-Ucayali is the longest river on this planet with a length of 7,025 kilometers. It is carrying more water than any other river. The Amazonas with it's more than 10,000 tributary streams offers the livelihood for many people as well as seldom animals and plants. The river covers a height difference of 5,400 m, starting at the official Río Apurímac's spring in Peruvian Andes until flowing into the Atlantic in Brazil.
The mighty Amazonas plays an important role for the stablization of our world climate with its large original rainforest and a feeding area of over
7 million square kilometers. This is 20 times the area of Germany and almost the whole area of Brazil. Due to its immense importance, it is a pleasure for us to financially support the work of the WWF Switzerland to protect the biological diversity of species in the Amazonas Rainforest. Please, help with an Amazonas sponsorship today. Thanks!
